Seasonal Cocktails Spring 2012
Every season we combine some of our favourite spirits with the fruits and flavours of the moment to produce a handful of seasonal cocktails.
Finally the lighter days are upon us
Song, from Act V, Scene 2 of Love’s Labors Lost by William Shakespeare
When daisies pied, and violets blue,
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
“Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo!” O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear.
When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are ploughmen’s clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
“Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo!” O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear.

Meadow Mist
Zubrowka bisongrass vodka, fresh sorrel leaves, delicate elderflower and dandelion are shaken and topped with Agrapart les 7 cru, creating this lush champagne cocktail. Refreshingly green in both taste and colour.
Streetcar
A cousin to the Sidecar cocktail, this elegant concoction pairs Grappa - with its aniseed and white chocolate notes - with the sweetness of Cassis and the sharpness of fresh lemon. The perfect aperitif!
Six Islands (Sis Zile)
Banks 5 Islands rum together with Havana 7-year, shaken with a delectable blend of orange and carrot juices, homemade orgeat and a dash of celery bitters. Stimulating for all lovers of rum.
Thyme Collins
A palate-pleasing take on a great classic, this ‘Collins’ combines Tanqueray gin, lemon, soda, sugar, pink grapefruit, and aromatic thyme from the garden...just the thing to give ol’ Tom a little extra spring (and zing) in his step!
The 866
A sumptuous mix of the rich bitterness of Campari, a zesty burst of pink grapefruit juice, and savoury-licious dill aquavit from Danish micro-distiller, Esrom Sø. Finished with a pineapple salt rim, this drink has a long finish and a lovely complexity.
